Connecting Google Analytics with Mesa

When you're setting up your first workflow with Google Analytics, you'll need to add your Google Analytics ID so that Google Analytics is a connected app within Mesa.

Your Google Analytics ID can be found by following this document but you can also read the following instructions:

1. Sign into your Google Analytics Account

2. Click on Admin from the left hand side bar.

3. Ensure that you have the correct account selected under Account.

4. Ensure that you have the correct Property selected under Property.

5. Under Property, select Tracking Info and then Tracking Code

6. You will find your Google Analytics ID under Tracking ID. It should start with UA (e.g. UA-000000-2).

7. Copy and paste the Tracking ID into the Google Analytics ID field in your Mesa workflow. Click Save and you are all set!

Sending Data to Google Analytics

When creating an event or transaction in Google Analytics, you will be able to send data along with the creation. To send data, you can use the Data Mapping section.

Note: After your workflow triggers, it may take up to a day for the data to appear in Google Analytics.

  • Key: You can think of Keys as the index for your data, which Google Analytics uses to insert into the appropriate location within its data. An example would be: tr for Transaction Revenue. In the Data Mapping section, click on the Tokens button {+} to see a full list of relevant parameters. If your Google Analytics account supports them, you can use additional parameters too. For example, Enhanced E-Commerce parameters.
  • Value: You can add text or/and utilize Mesa's Tokens feature to send dynamic data from steps above the Google Analytics step.
