# MESA AI

MESA AI is an assistant built into MESA and it's included on every MESA plan.

You can describe a workflow in plain language and have MESA build it, ask it to handle one-off tasks, or add an AI step inside a workflow. You don't need any technical knowledge to use it.

## Ways to use MESA AI

### Build a workflow by describing it

Tell MESA AI what you want to automate and it builds the workflow for you, including the trigger, conditions, actions, and error handling.

For example, you might ask: 'Tag international orders over $500 and send a notification to Slack.'

MESA AI creates the workflow, and you can review it before turning it on.

### Run one-off tasks

Not everything needs a workflow. You can ask MESA AI to look up or analyze your store data on demand.

For example: 'Which customers ordered in Q4 but haven't made a repeat purchase?'

From there you can export the results, such as to Google Sheets or a Klaviyo segment.

### Troubleshoot with MESA AI

You can also use MESA AI to [troubleshoot](https://docs.getmesa.com/~/revisions/AeVAr0cvkpNe7hqvrrhD/workflow-activity/tasks/troubleshooting) your workflow when errors occur.

Look for the Troubleshoot with MESA AI link in an action that has an error to help with troubleshooting for a fix.

## What MESA AI can access

MESA AI works with your MESA data and your connected apps.

Based on the permissions you grant, it can query orders, customers, and products and run workflows.

When you use it for a workflow, you control which actions it can perform.

## How MESA AI learns your business

MESA AI uses your connected store data and your conversation history to learn how your business works and what you prefer.

The more you use it, the more useful its suggestions become.

## If MESA AI doesn't understand your request

Try rephrasing your request, or split it into smaller steps. You can also build or edit any workflow yourself in MESA's visual [workflow builder](https://docs.getmesa.com/~/revisions/AeVAr0cvkpNe7hqvrrhD/workflow-builder), including workflows MESA AI created.
